Plagiarism at music school – by Frank and Ernest

After thinking about it long enough, I don’t agree that plagiarism should be treated as a crime. It is a form of flattery, perhaps a bit flawed, but there is an idea even in Philippine law that it is a violation of a moral right. So it looks more like a tort. But it’s better to consult my highest authorities — F and E, LLP.

In a cartoon opinion, the noted Law Firm F and E considered the question of whether taking notes is a crime.  Here’s their answer (from Thaves, June 15, 2008):
