Are there economies of scale in RE production of electricity?

It appears that there are economies of scale when the RE source is wind or solar, but not geothermal or hydro.

This observation is based on the fact that several countries, as noted elsewhere, have set FITs for solar and wind energy that are differentiated by plant size.

Data from the United States suggest that the cost of solar production for a large industrial plant is about half that for a residential installation.
